Stanford University & The Meyer Family Move Forward

Today we’re reflecting on our Hope in Action Luncheon with Katie’s Save, and sharing meaningful news worth celebrating! The Meyer family and Stanford University have reached a resolution following Katie Meyer’s tragic death in 2022, marking an important step forward. As part of this agreement, Stanford will invest in student-athlete mental health initiatives, establish the Katie Meyer Leadership Award, retire Katie’s #19 jersey, and adopt the principles of Katie Meyer’s Law to strengthen student support during disciplinary processes.

These actions honor Katie’s legacy while creating real, lasting change for current and future students, and that’s exactly what hope in action looks like. Closer to home, we’re inspired to see @reptracymarra helping move similar legislation forward locally. Change happens when people show up! Stay tuned for ways Wave Strong supporters can take action and help make a difference.
